Formwork for quay wall blocks

Construx supplies all forms for the blocks of a new quay wall. The different types of quay wall blocks are stacked offshore, up to a total height of 20,7m and 1m above high tide sea level. They are prefabricated on-site in fixed made-to-measure moulds. The capping beam blocks are made on tilting tables.

Specifications of the blocks:

  • Length from 6m to 9,6m
  • Width 1460mm
  • Height from 1650mm to 2100mm
  • Weight from 25T to 45T
  • Tongue and groove connection
  • Chamfers 80mm x 80mm
  • Box-outs at both ends, depending on the form of the block above
  • Continuous vertical openings for lifting

Formwork consists of following parts:

  • Multiple bases per mould
  • Outside panels to be removed in 1 single action
  • Base forms with manual air-vents
  • Box-outs for lifting, chamfers and tongue and groove
  • No tie-bars through the element
